Publishers start to hand in applications for 24th TIBF

Iranian publishers started on Sunday to hand in their applications for a 24th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) to be staged early in May, 2011 in Tehran, according to chairman of committee in charge of policies of the landmark cultural event.
 
The deadline for application will expire on February 3, Bahmd Dorri added.
 
Told IRNA cultural desk Saturday that the TIBF policy setting committee has convened for an 11th session last week which issued a call for all cultural associations and societies to join their hands with the committee for a qualified staging of cultural event.
 
The deputy minister of culture in cultural affairs urged any would be applicants to hand in their applications and fill in related forms in the offices of several cultural associations, namely cultural association of university publishers, cultural association of children publishers, cultural association of educational publishers and the national Publishers Cooperatives Union.
 
Dorri noted that applications would be processed and finalized on February 3 when accredited publishers would be notified about the price and area of their pavilions inside the fairground.
 
The 11th session of the policy setting committee had also reviewed several initiatives for sidelines programs in the fair, according to the official, who serves as the 24th TIBF chairman.
 
Dorri then touched on other issues on agenda of the 11th meeting, including relevant regulations and instructions for publicity works, latest modifications to necessary qualifications for domestic publishers, and regulations of sideline activities by publishers.
