Hicabi Kırlangıç says: Tehran International Book Fair is a big fair in the region and even the world. We can compare this cultural event in Iran with book fairs in Frankfurt and Cairo, Egypt.
Hicabi Kırlangıç, The ambassador of Turkey in Iran, in an interview with the news headquarter of the 34th Tehran International Book Fair, says: I have been following and visiting the Tehran International Book Fair since the early years of its establishment. Several times I participated as a speaker in the scientific meetings of the exhibition and introduced the translation project of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism in this cultural event.
He said about the linguistic link between Iran and Turkey: Persian language has been the common language of different Islamic nations in a large geographical area throughout history. The Turkish language in Anatolia gradually took the place of the Persian language, but the vocabulary of the Persian language is still alive and used in the Turkish language. Persian language is not a language that belongs only to the Iranian nation.
Referring to the spread of Persian language in India, Balkans, Anatolia and North Africa, Turkish ambassador in Iran continues: We do not consider Persian language as a language belonging to one nation. Persian language belongs to Islamic nations and is still a bridge between Muslim countries. Turkey has precious reserves in this field. Turkish libraries are full of works in Persian language.
Kırlangıç calls Hafez, Molana and Saadi common figures between Iran and Turkey and adds: These figures are the scientific and cultural leaders of the Islamic world. Many enthusiasts in Turkey are doing research in the field of Persian literature.
The 34th Tehran International Book Fair with the slogan “the future is to be read” started on the 10th of May and will continue until the 20th of May 2023 in the Mosque of Imam Khomeini and simultaneously on ketab.ir.
