Chinese cultural authority describes public welcome to TIBF as exceptional

A senior Xhinese cultural official described public welcome accorded to the 24th TIBF event as exceptional and peerless.

 

Deputy Chinese Director of General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP), Yu Shu Lin, who is currently in Tehran heading a delegation to visit the landmark cultural event, was speaking to the book fair's press office.

 

Yu Shu Lin said he was delighted at his visit to the book fair and vowed to dispatch a delegation for every next edition of the major international event.

 

The Chinese official then turned to the case of mutual translating of classics of Persian and Chinese and said the initiative would help upgrade the levels of cultural ties between the two nations.

 

The deputy GAPP director said according to available statistics, up to 600 books or articles were translated into Persian from Chinese while up to 700 Persian titles were rendered into Chinese to date, noting a sharp rise in the number of Persian titles rendered into Chinese.

 

Yu Shu Lin inspected the Tehran based book show heading a 6-strong delegation.
