Over 200 panels planned for the 24th TIBF – chief executive

More than 200 professional panels are on agenda of the 24th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF), the TIBF Chief Executive Bahman Dorri told the book fair's press office Saturday.
The panels, according to Dorri, have been planned to be staged at four major cultural venues, namely "Chamber of Men of Pen," "Chamber of Authors of Children and Youngsters Works," "Chamber of Publishing Records," and "Hall of Public Get-together with Authors."
The TIBF's chief executive expressed hope visitors of the 24th edition of the book fair would witness more rigorous programs during the major cultural event.
Dorri said the 24th edition runs under the motto of "promotion of religious gnosis and cultural insight." He urged for organizers of sideline activities and events to further promote religion and culture in their programs.
Elaborating on the panels, Dorri said 3 to 5 panels a day would be staged in the Chamber of Men of Pen, dealing with such topics as commemoration of top authors, presentation of top works and book reviews with intellectuals, authors and critics at hand.
The panels broach topics as "role of women in Sacred Defense works," "review of Koran-based tale writing in modern time," "soft warfare," "domestication of humanities," etc.
Concerning went on to say that the chamber of children and youngsters works will stage 28 panels on book reviews, lectures and subject panel discussions with theoreticians and practitioners of the field exchanging their views and reviewing several top sellers and major works.
The panel discussions, according to Dorri, are to deal with such topics as "illustration in religious books for children and youngsters," "review of trends of mystic literature for children and youngsters," interspersed with several lectures on related matters.
The chief executive said the Chamber of Publishing Records as a sideline program would stage top notch programs on "records and archiving," "librarianship and information," "manuscripts," etc.
Several workshops too would be staged during the book fair, broaching, among others, such topics as "octagon of book study; a model for promotion of study skills," "study of future," and "journalism in publishing domains," he told the press office.
As for the hall of public get-together with authors, Dorri said a number of works will be reviewed in the hall in the presence of their authors.
The 24th book fair, the chief executive said, would also witness a debut program, namely panels on latest academic theories developed and presented by the Iranian researchers where authors and theoreticians would review and debate the latest views of Iranian theoreticians.
Dorri expressed hope the debut section would etch an image of innovation in the records of the sideline activities of the 24th edition of the major international cultural event.
