24th edition of Tehran International Book Fair pursues an agenda of promotion of genuine religious merits and divine values, Chief Executive Bahman Dorri told a combined delegation of authors from two shrine cities of Qom (in Iran) and Karbala (in Iraq) Monday.

The delegation, in Tehran on a tour of the international event, was led by several personalities, including Sheikh Hashem Salempour, Najah Ta'ei, Sayyed Ahmad Husseini and Monjed Ka'abi, the book fair's press office reported on Monday.

According to the report, the delegation has delivered three separate statements to the chief executive, urging him to enhance combat against deviant sects, including Baha'ism.

Mr. Dorri appreciated the delegation for the visit and said two major titles in 25 volumes were being authored to counter such deviant sects.

The TIBF authority touched on the motto of the 24th book fair, namely "promotion of religious knowledge and cultural insight" and said panel debates were planned on the sidelines of the landmark event so as to promote genuine, divinely-rooted religious teachings.

Also deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Dorri assured the delegation that no titles that peddle the stray ideas of Baha'ism would be allowed to sit on the stands.

Meanwhile, Sayyed Ahmad Husseini, an Alim with Qom-based Howza Elmiya (religious school) in brief remarks in the meeting regretted that while many individuals in Arab countries, many of which predominantly Muslim, look to Iran for help following the Islamic Revolution (1979), linguistic differences have still lingered as a big hindrance.
