Guest of Honor 2022

Tehran International Book Fair annually selects a country as a guest of honor country to provide an opportunity to expand cultural interactions and further introduce a country to the exhibition space.

During the ten days of the TIBF, various cultural programs are preplanned for the guest of honor inside the book fair. In addition, through events attended by cultural figures from the guest of honor country held in other vital sections of the book fair as well as publishers' stands, the publishing capabilities of that country will be presented to other publishers. Furthermore, there will be other programs and specialized meetings in academic and cultural centers outside the book fair venue.

The countries that have attended the Tehran International Book Fair as guests of honor are Afghanistan, Oman, Russia, Italy, Serbia, and China.

The State of Qatar will be the guest of honor at the Thirty-third Tehran International Book Fair 2022, scheduled from 11th to 21st of May. There will be more than 350 book titles on various topics like classical and contemporary Qatar literature, Religion, tourism, history, etc., on a national stand covering an area of 160 square meters. More importantly, great Qatari publishers such as Dar Alwatad, Dar Napjah, Dar Roza, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, and Qatar University Press will attend panels and give presentations. Above all, Mr. Jassim Albouenin (the Director of the Doha international book fair and Head of the Libraries Department) and Mr.Reyadh Yaseen (the Head of Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum) will be at the fair to promote Qatar Literature which is a great opportunity for ones seeking to connect with the Qatar Publishers. The fair will also create an opportunity to introduce Qatar Literary works and Qatar culture to different international publishers and literary agencies from various countries.
