Iranian Publishing to be introduced at Istanbul Book Fair

The 37th Istanbul International Book Fair kicked off today with Iranian representatives in ‎attendance.‎

According to the public relations office of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute which represents ‎the publishing industry of our country, Iran’s stand in this event measures 12 square ‎meters. 270 books in a variety of subjects such as fiction, Iranian studies, art, the Sacred ‎Defense as well as works for children and young adults are put on public display in the ‎stand.‎

Pol Literary Agency is also working in the Iranian stand. Meetings on the resistance ‎literature are held with the participation of Iranian authors and publishers as well as the ‎translator of the sacred Defense book ‘Da’.‎

The other programs of Iran in this edition of Istanbul Book Fair include, introducing the ‎Grant Plan aimed to foster the translation of Persian books into foreign languages; and ‎inviting foreign publishers for participation at the upcoming Tehran International Book ‎Fair (TIBF). ‎

Last year, 820 participants from 22 countries attended the event while 740,000 people ‎visited the book fair and 300 programs were held on the sidelines.‎

The 37th Istanbul International Book Fair will be running from November 9 to 17, however ‎the international section will work until November 12.‎
