The Iranian Stand Commenced its Activities in the Tunis International Book Fair

Concurrent with the beginning of the 34th Tunis International Book Fair, the Iranian Stand commenced its Activities. 

According to a report by the Public Relations Department of the ICFI, the opening ceremony of the book fair was held. The Minister of Culture of Tunis as well as the Algerian Minister of Culture gave lectures in the event. The Iranian ambassador and the Iranian cultural attaché in Tunis attended the ceremony. 
A total of 259 publishers have participated in 740 stands in three halls. 111 publishers are Tunisian, 128 more are from Arabic-speaking countries while another 20 come from other countries to showcase their very last products in the publishing industry. Algeria is the Guest of Honor in this edition of the Tunis International Book Fair. It started yesterday (Apr. 6, 2018).
On the first day of the book fair, the Minister of Culture of Tunis and the Algerian Minister of Culture visited the Iranian Stand. Minister of Culture of Tunis appreciated the presences of books regarding the Islamic-Iranian art, especially the art of calligraphy. Artworks were made by Hamidreza Shoureshi, the calligrapher attending the stand were presented, and presented to the minister.  
Holding a calligraphy workshop in the stand and Iranian traditional music performance are amongst the programmes considered by the ICFI for this edition of the Tunis International Book Fair which will be in collaboration with our cultural attaché in Tunis. Introducing the Fellowship Plan for publishers, writers and translators active in the field of Persian books, introducing books supported by the Iranian Translation Grant Project, as well as introducing the Iranian publishing industry in Arabic and French languages are among other programmes provided.
