The Islamic Republic of Iran is gong to participate in the 55th Bologna Book Fair

The 55th edition of the Bologna Book Fair will be held in Mar. 26-29, 2018. Participated by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the book fair will be organized in six halls.

According to a report by the Public Relations Department of the ICFI, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair has started since 1962 and every year it is held in the spring time on area of 20,000 sq. m. In the last edition of the book fair, 1280 exhibitors with 26,700 professional visitors from 100 countries and 720 journalists from 40 countries attended the event. 
The Bologna Children’s Book Fair has been the reference event for publishers, authors, illustrators, literary agents, distributors, teachers, developers, translators and all of the professions involved in the world of publishing and content for children. The book fair is no place for book selling and the books are only showcased. China is participating in this edition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair as the Guest Country of Honor.
Like the previous years, the Iranian stand is going to be organized by the ICFI. Over 350 titles for children and young adults from 62 publishers and 280 writers will be showcased in the stand. Also, Soore Mehr Publishing, the Association of Female Publishers, and Tuti Publishing will represent their works independently in the Iranian stand. 
Showcasing and introducing books from Iran, performing cultural and art programmes, holding illustration workshops, as well as organizing specialized meetings and forums will be among the programmes provided by the Iranian stand. In this regard, the Iranian Translation Grant Project and publication of Iranian books in the international market will be introduced in the stand. Showcasing and introducing the titles supported by the Iranian Translation Grant Project will be amongst the programmes presented by Iran in the 55th edition of the Bologna Book Fair.
This year, sponsored by the ICFI, Hassan Amekan, Amir Shabanipour, and Reza Dalvand – whose names are listed in the catalog of the Bologna Illustration Exhibition, Paria Lorestani and Hassan Esmaeili Taheri –winners of the picture book creation contest, and Farhad Hassanzadeh –shortlisted for HansChristian Andersen Award, will participate the book fair.
