Paris Book Fair to Host Iranian Publishing Industry

According to a report by the Public Relations Department of the ICFI, the thirty eighth edition of Paris Book Fair will be held in “Porte de Versailles”. Attended by 50 different countries, including Iran, the book fair will be working from Mar. 16-19. The book fair will be on in Mar 15 just for special visitors. Russia with 38 authors from this country will be the guest of honor in this edition of the book fair.
Like the previous years, the Iranian Stand has been organized by ICFI and 700 titles in fields such as fiction, religion, holy defense, Iranology, and children will be showcased. Also, The House of Tehran, next to the Iranian Stand, will represent books to introduce City of Tehran as a probable candidate for the Special Guest City of Paris Book Fair for the next year.
Three major activities will be organized in collaboration with the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Paris, the House of Iranian Culture and the Municipality of Tehran in the stand: Showcasing and introducing Iranian books, staging cultural events, and organizing specialized forums in publishing industry are amongst these activities. In this regard, the representative of the Translation Grant Project for Iranian books will have meetings with publishers attending the book fair. Showcasing and introducing books supported by the Translation Grant Project as well as suggesting the books winning Jalal and Parvin Etesami Prizes to be published by foreign publishers have been considered as well. In the stand of our country, representatives from publishers such as Soureh Mehr, Farhang Moaser, Candle and Fog, etc. will attend and books from publishers like the Library of Parliament, Samt, Boustan Ketab, fatemi, Ghoghnous, Shahrestan Adab, and Khaneh Honarmandan will be showcased.
