Development of the Relationships between Iranian and French Publishers to Translate the Literary Works of Two Countries

In his visit to the Tehran International Book Fair, the director of International Bureau of French Publishing said, "We are interested in developing our relationships with the Iranian publishers to start common activities for translation of the literary works of the two countries. Of course, besides the development of cultural diplomacy, we are also seeking to develop the economical diplomacy with Iran."

In the ninth day of the 30th TIBF, Jean-Guy Boin, the director of International Bureau of French Publishing, attended in the VIP place of the book fair to have a meeting with Seyyed Abbas Salehi, the director of the TIBF.
After this meeting and visiting the International Hall of the book fair, Jean-Guy Boin explained about the activities of the International Bureau of French Publishing to the reporter from IBNA, "We are a private society with 280 French publishers. Attending international book fairs including the TIBF, holding conferences and forums attended by French and foreign publishers as well as pricing the books are amongst the activities that this office is planning."
He added, "The International Bureau of French Publishing is funded by the publishers themselves and the Centrale de l'Édition which is a governmental institution under the supervision of the French Ministry of Culture."
Jean-Guy Boin regarded the events of Guest of Honor and Special City Guest in the TIBF as an opportunity to promote cultural interactions between Iran and other countries. He said, "We are also interested in developing our relationships with Iran and start mutual activities in the area of translation between the two countries. Of course, besides the development of cultural diplomacy, we are also seeking to develop the economical diplomacy with Iran."
